When Awareness Changes Everything

When Awareness Changes Everything

This morning, I spent the whole time working on my website and it was such an effective and focused time. Hours passed so quickly while I was deep in the flow of creating and being productive.

When I finally paused for lunch, I cooked myself rosti and salad, it was my first attempt at that dish. It was fun and satisfying, and I felt good about how my morning and afternoon went.

Later, as I started to relax and watch Netflix, I noticed something interesting within me. My mind was running wild as my thoughts racing, constantly thinking about what to do next, wanting to work on more things.

I kept observing my body too. It couldn’t seem to settle. I kept moving around, restless. Then I realised this is exactly how I used to operate back in my corporate life. Always doing, never really stopping.

But instead of judging it, I felt amazed by myself, by my mind and my body. How powerful the brain can be when it’s focused. And how much potential there is when I learn to use that power in ways that truly support and empower me.

I also noticed another pattern within me too. The constant urge to check for results or responses to what I’ve done. I realised I had this subtle expectation running in the background, which made me keep wanting to monitor my social media.

When I became aware of it, I paused and asked myself: Why am I doing this?

Is it for the joy of creating and expressing myself?

Or am I seeking responses as validation as a quick excitement to feed my ego?

With that awareness, I chose to gently return to my evening routine, allowing myself to simply be, without needing anything in return.

This is a new understanding of myself and I’m grateful to be seeing it more clearly.

This time, I made a different decision.

Have you ever caught yourself waiting for results or validation before allowing yourself to rest? Maybe, like me, your mind is simply showing you how much it wants to be seen and how powerful it can become when you lead it with awareness.
