The Meatless 40 Days, Countless Inner Shifts
Share
Already day 41 since I started my meatless diet after joining the rebirthing retreat last month.
It’s common to stay meatless for 40 days after a retreat to let the body reset with clean foods. I’ve joined retreats before, but this was my first time actually completing a 40-day meatless journey.
This round, I didn’t overthink. I simply did it as I was ready for the reset.
Surprisingly, the journey wasn’t difficult.
I didn’t give myself strict rules, just focus no meat and no food waste. With that, I was good.
The nice part is I ended up creating healthier meals for myself. It’s simple, new, joyful dishes.
I enjoyed all my meals, and even my family benefitted with better food arrangements, better utilisation, and more variety on our table.
And something shifted in me during this journey:
- I finally completed setting up my website (something I dragged for a year, but finished within a week).
- My blog writing began to flow naturally, with clarity and ease.
- Through my own observation and reflection, I was able to instantly shift out of old patterns that used to hold me back.
- Emotionally, I became more stable (feeling more peace and ease in my daily life).
- I felt more enjoyment in everything I was doing, even small tasks.
- I became more present in my connections (with myself, my family, and the people around me).
This journey taught me:
“When you’re truly ready, nothing will stop you from moving forward.
When resistance shows up, ask yourself: Is this goal real for me? Is this something I truly want? Be honest with yourself.”
Why 40 days meatless?
A 40-day reset allows the body to become lighter and clearer.
Without meat, digestion softens, detoxification becomes more natural, and internal inflammation calms down. You feel more grounded, more emotionally stable, and more connected to your own energy.
It’s also long enough for old eating habits to shift which helping you choose food with intention and nourish your body more mindfully.
