Is Your “Knowing” Setting You Free?

Words Spoken
From an Old Story
“I’ve seen many people before… they take advantage, they cut corners, they ‘eat snake’…”
“I eat more salt than you eat rice.”
Said with strong emotion. To someone they had just met.
In that moment, I recognised it immediately. Not with judgment but with deep familiarity.
I Didn’t React.
I Chose to Observe.
That same pattern used to live in me, getting triggered, feeling the need to be right, wanting to defend, to push back.
But this time… something shifted.
I didn’t react. I didn’t defend. Deep down, I knew no matter what I said, it wouldn’t be received. So I chose to simply agree… and observe.
Her body language. Her emotions. Her certainty.
And in that moment, I saw a version of myself so clearly. How I used to be hooked by past experiences, reacting from old emotions, believing my story was the truth.
“And I felt grateful. Grateful to witness this shift in me. Grateful to see how far I’ve walked.”
If You Often Say,
“I’ve Seen Many People Before…”
Take a deep breath in… and out.
And ask yourself:
Is this way of seeing the world bringing you closer to what you truly want?
Or is it quietly holding you back from moving forward?
“The past is a teacher. But it was never meant to be the lens through which you see every new moment.”
