Becoming the Bridge Between Ancient Wisdom and the AI Generation

When I was young, I questioned almost everything.

Not because I wanted to rebel.

I simply wanted to understand.

Whenever I asked my parents why we did certain things, the answer was often,

“Because our elders did it this way.”

Or,

“Don’t ask so much. Just do it.”

For a curious child, that wasn’t enough.

So I stopped believing many of those traditions.

 

Today, I see things very differently.

Not because someone finally convinced me.

But because life itself became my teacher.

As I experienced more, met more people, explored spirituality, breathwork, energy, business, technology, and human consciousness, I began seeing that many traditions passed down by our ancestors weren’t simply “superstitions.”

Many of them were ways of protecting, connecting, remembering, and respecting life.

The problem wasn’t the traditions.

The problem was that somewhere between generations, we stopped explaining the meaning behind them.

For example…

• Why do we pray to our ancestors?
• Why do people speak to the household deity?
• Why do we knock before entering a hotel room?
• Why do many elders avoid hanging clothes outside overnight?
• Why shouldn’t we open an umbrella indoors?
• Why is Qing Ming still important today?
• Why do people continue burning offerings during Qing Ming?
• Why do people use “Sheng Bei” to communicate during prayer?
• Why do some believe playing a flute at night attracts spirits?

Whether we believe every explanation literally isn’t the point.

The deeper question is…

What wisdom was our ancestors trying to preserve?

Every culture develops rituals for a reason.

Some carry spiritual meaning.

Some teach respect.

Some promote mindfulness.

Some remind us that we are part of something larger than ourselves.

When we lose the meaning, all that’s left is the ritual.

Then the next generation naturally asks,

“Why should I do this?”

And they walk away.

Recently, I had a deeper realization.

Perhaps I exist in this particular era for a reason.

I was born into what many call Period 8 the Millennials.

I grew up in a mostly non-digital world.

Today, I am building my life in the fully digital Period 9 the AI era.

I understand both worlds.

I understand handwritten letters and artificial intelligence.

Temple prayers and online communities.

Ancient wisdom and modern technology.

Maybe my role isn’t to choose one over the other.

Maybe my role is to become a bridge.

A bridge that translates ancient wisdom into language today’s generation can understand.

Not asking people to blindly believe.

But inviting them to explore with curiosity.

To experience.

To discover.

To keep what serves humanity and let go of what no longer does.

Because wisdom only survives when someone is willing to translate it.

Love only continues when someone chooses to pass it on.

Every generation carries a message.

Our ancestors passed theirs to us.

Now it is our turn.
